This 2-DVD set is a great overview and history of the NWOBHM band Raven. It includes tons of interviews, photos, and concert footage of the band across 35 years of performing. Raven is probably the most under-rated heavy metal band in the world. Their high energy stage shows, great songs, and rapport with their fans are truly unparalleled.

The DVDs include dozens of glimpses of John’s 12-string basses: the Natural Hamer B12S, his Transparent Purple Hamer B12S, and October Transparent Black Limited Edition 12-string bass. He also plays a variety of 8-string basses.

John Gallagher got his first 12-string bass, a Hamer B12S, in 1993. John stated, “I bought it mail-order from a store in California after scouring the UK for an 8-string. As for live, I usually use the 8-string or 12-string for most of the set, changing to my Explorer for the last few songs. For years I would play clean and then kick in a Tube Screamer to fill up the holes when Mark would solo. Since recording our Architect Of Fear album in 1990 I've been playing dirty all the time. It just sounds fatter, more aggressive - perfect for our sound.”
