15-String Bass Cigarette Lighters
Starting in 2007, cigarette lighters in the shape of a 15-string bass were produced in China. These were undoubtedly modeled after the Warrior Signature Series 15-string basses and include 15 tuners on the headstock. An additional large tuner is located on the top of the headstock; it gives the headstock a more symmetrical, balanced look and serves as an anchor to one of the six metal strings.
The lighters are about 7” long and nearly 2½” wide at the widest point of the body. Most of the bodies are made of metal but plastic bodies are also found. Many lighters have six flashing colored LED’s (two each of red, blue, and yellow) on the neck that flash quickly in sequence for about 10 seconds when the trigger on the lower horn is pressed. The flame comes out of the upper horn.
A variety of body colors, color variations, and graphics styles were produced. Customized finished also exist. A number of lighters include band logos - these were produced by licensee C&D Visionary in 2008. The retail selling price of these lighters was typically $5.99 to $8.99.
