Mojo magazine debuted on the newsstands of Britain in 1993 and offers stories of music’s all-time greats and recommended new music. The idea behind the publication according to founding editor Paul Du Noyer was for something "that had the sensibilities of a fanzine and the design values of Vogue." The magazine’s title was chosen as a homage to Delta Blues mythology and as a reminder of the magic at the core of music. It is published monthly.
A photo of one of Tom Petersson’s Chandler Royale 12-string basses is included in the “Mojo Filter” section of this issue. The review of Cheap Trick’s show at the Roxy Theatre in Atlanta, Georgia is interesting: “The encore includes the glorious ‘Voices’, perhaps the best ‘Beatle-esque’ song ever written, and a revved-up ‘Dream Police’, then winds down with Nielsen leading the audience in ‘Happy Birthday’, sung to Robin. The lights come up. Weird. This has got to be the first rock concert in history that has ended with ‘Happy Birthday’. Whatever chaos kicked the show into gear, Cheap Trick need to find more of it.”
