A total of seven baseball cards have been printed that show live shots of Jeff Ament from Pearl Jam playing a 12-string bass. Two of these cards appeared in 2013. Jeff is shown playing his Hamer “Ament” 12-string bass. The reverse sides of these cards show small parts of larger Pearl Jam photos.
2016 Series
Jeff is playing his Hamer “Ament” 12-string bass in the photo inscribed ‘Boston’. In the ‘Chicago’ photo he is playing a Hamer 12-string bass with a custom Thunderbird body.
2018 Series
On each of these cards Ament is playing his Hamer B12A “Ament” 12-string bass.
Cheap Trick
Cheap Trick was featured on a trading card produced by Heinerle from Bamberg, West Germany. Tom Petersson is shown with his Hamer B12A 12-string bass. This card is number 95 of Heinerle’s 1980 music and rock series. It is smaller than a standard baseball card at 1⅞” wide by 2⅞” high. This photo was likely taken at the August, 1979 Rockpalast show in Köln, Germany.
Baseball cards showing Tom Petersson playing Hamer B12A 12-string basses re-appeared in 2020. Published by Pop Art Sports Cards, the cards are intended to be ‘period correct’ for specific years and give baseball-style statistics on the back. The detail paragraph on the reverse of the 1979 Series card reads in part, “Tom is known for playing a 12-string bass guitar in his live performances.”
Pete Comita was also featured by Pop Art Sports Cards on his own baseball card. He is shown playing his zebra-striped Hamer Standard 12-string bass. It appeared late in 2020.
Enuff Z’Nuff
Chip Z’Nuff was featured by Pop Art Sports Card on a baseball card in 2020. He is playing the Metallic Light Blue Hamer Steve Stevens model 12-string bass that had been built for Jon Brant.
