Bomp! was a rock music fanzine that ran from 1970 to 1979. It was edited and published by Greg Shaw from Burbank, California, and his wife Suzy handled the subscriptions. The magazine was originally titled Who Put The Bomp after the 1961 doo-wop song by Barry Mann but was later shortened. A total of 21 issues of Bomp! were released, then the magazine was shut down in favor of an independent record label, Bomp! Records, which operated until Greg Shaw’s death in 2004.
This issue includes a full page ad for Cheap Trick from the “Metropolitan” photo shoot that shows Tom Petersson holding the Hamer Quad 12-string bass.
