The National Rag
The National Rag Music Newspaper
The National Rag was a small tabloid newspaper published in Syracuse, New York. It provided information about the music and entertainment industry in central New York state. The paper’s byline was “Fun for the 80’s”. It is unknown how long the paper was in operation.
The May 29, 1980 issue includes two one-page write-ups of Cheap Trick’s concert in Syracuse, New York on May 5th of that year. One article discusses the mystique of Cheap Trick as experienced by a fan anticipating the show, while the other gives a lackluster review of the show. Nothing like fair and balanced journalism, eh?
One photo from the concert review shows Tom Petersson playing the Hamer Double-Cutaway B12A 12-string bass.
