In this feature Pearl Jam’s guitar tech, George Webb, discusses the instruments and rigs used by the band members during their live shows. Regarding bassist Jeff Ament’s gear Webb states, “Jeff still uses some Hamers - in fact, I talked with the company president, Jol Dantzig, today and they’re sending out a new fretless bass to us. Other than that, all we have on the road from Hamer is an eight-string and a twelve-string bass…”

Webb continues, “On tour, Mike, Stone, and Jeff go out and look for gear on their own - they really enjoy that. Sometimes, they just show up at the venue and say, ‘Hey, look what I just got!’”
