Alexandre Paschalis Custom 12-String Bass
This custom 12-string bass was built by luthier Alexandre Paschalis of Itanhaém, Brazil, which is just south of São Paulo. Paschalis has previously built touch basses with 12 to 14 strings but this is his first triple-strung bass. The bass was custom built for Jorge Pescara of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, so it has been named the Jorge Pescara model.
The body is made of Cabreúva Vermelha with a Sucupira wood top. The neck is also Cabreúva Vermelha with a Roxinho wood fingerboard. The inlays are Cabreúva. 30” short scale.
Tune-o-matic style BM-108-BK bridge and tailpiece. Tuning: ddD aaA eeE bbB. String gauges are .045/.016, .065/.026, .085/.036, .105/.046.
