The February, 1981 issue (Vol. 9 No. 77) of Vibraciones magazine, published in Barcelona, Spain, includes a three-page article about Cheap Trick. The Hamer Quad 12-string bass is shown being played by Tom Petersson in one photograph, even though Petersson had left the group the previous year. His replacement, Pete Comita, is shown in two photos, including the one below which was taken in Rick Nielsen’s basement showing him playing a 4-string bass. In the article Comita is referred to only as “Comita” - his first name was never mentioned.

A question from the interview: “By the way, Tom Petterson (the bass player) has left the band. Did you kick him out or did he leave?”

“Neither one or the another. He was tired of touring. But we have found a new bass player, Comita, his name is, who is also a friend of mine from Chicago. (By the way, he is young, handsome and dark-haired; in other words, a vivid picture of the previous bassist.)”
